Back when I only had three kids and was still hanging on to that dream of being a writer like a dog with a pork chop, I felt lost. But ...

What was I going to write about? How to pick between all the ideas swirling around in my head? Once written, where in the world would I send my stuff?

Well, I finally did get something written and I sent it off to my local regional parenting magazine, Kansas City Parent. The logical thing to do, right? Lots of writers do it (and then get stuck only writing for their local magazine and dont realize there are dozens and dozens more who also want their piece). Once I got my act together I got to see it in the May/June issue of Calgarys child here. After that, it evolved into this and sold more often. And thats just one article. I have about 100 in circulation these days.

But Im getting ahead of myself. Back to WHERE will I send my stuff besides my local place?

Well, I found this outdated, nowhere-near-complete list called Parenting Publications of America online. I used that as a starting point to find more magazines all over the country (and Canada and England and Australia) and started collecting editor email addresses any way I could. It took a lot of hours of research, and all without an Internet connection at home.

After I entered all the email addresses and information into my email account, I went to town writing and submitting. And I had success!

Thats when I decided to write/compile this back in 2009 to help others do the same, and its now in the 5th edition (dont be fooled by more expensive and 1/4 of the size knock-offs that dont include the markets and want you to spend money on the information THEN spend hours of your time hunting down email addresses like tiny little email deer).

So I wanna know: how many ideas do you have? How many excuses do you make for not having time to write and make money getting published because I will shoot them down one by one like little tiny excuse deer, leaving you with no option but to be successful. Best and Worst Sales of the Year

November 2010 had been superb. A large group of vector artists and photographers had claimed that November 2010 was their best month ever (BME). Yes, that include myself. However, for the past 2 weeks, since the middle of December, sales had declined significantly. I noticed that my sales had dropped for nearly 50% since 20th. The obvious reason is because of Christmas celebration, and that means holiday. Holiday is bad for vector artists and photographers because buyers dont buy at this time. October and November are perhaps the best months of the year. I think the reasons being is because of rush. Many companies around the world prefer their backlogs to be finished before the new year, thus they urge graphic designers to complete all the jobs before the new year.

I hope sales will fully recover as early as 5th January 2011. Next year, I plan to concentrate even more on microstock industry as the profit has been significant compare to whatever I am doing right now :)

My December 2013 and Year End Work From Home Income Report Stop Whining Make Money

Whew, December came back like a champ! It punched out Novembers scrawny income and came in at a lovely $1,484.69. Christmas was a lot easier to afford this year, thats for sure!

As for 2013 as a whole, Ill cut to the chase and reveal that my income was close to $15,000, about 107% more than I made last year. I dont post this because Im bragging or think Im hot stuff. I post it as a challenge to you if you want to do what I do. Of course there are those who make much more than I do, but I choose to do what I do with kids underfoot. The income potential for you is there, and I just want to share sources and helps with you. I also post to challenge myself for future months and years.

I had a rich and full life this year. Im only working a few hours a day and if I could work full-time I could easily be pulling down close to $50,000, which I dont think is too shabby. The kids are still in gymnastics at about $200 per month, and Christmas was a breeze this year for my family of 7 plus friends and extended family. I love giving. I dont spend a lot of money on myself and love having extra money to be able to buy presents for friends or give to charity.

In case you wanted to know, here were Aprils numbers, and then Mays numbers. Then here are Junes numbers, and you can see Im increasing my income every month. July was amazing but not as good as August! September was $1,651.26. October was a little better than that. Heres November.

4. PostLoop. $5.82 doing not much at all. Im going to send you here because I have a lot of information on this and it needed its own post. 9. Ebooks on Amazon: $14.40 is my half after I pay my partner, who designs all my covers and does other misc. wonderful things. I now have 5 ebooks on Amazon with a 6th on the way (Laid-Back Homeschooling) and a 7th (The Kerrie Show Takes on Summer), so I am not to be deterred about this ebook business!
