Okay, so the epic games launcher will find you a copy of the latest update and begin to download it onto your device, windows pc, mac, whatever it is. now, just like any other launcher, it measures speeds in megabytes not megabits - which is what your speed test measures download speeds in - so the download is not 'slow' it is of the correct. My download speed provided by my isp _internet service provider_ s 2 mbps and the speed i get on running the speed test is 2.1 mbps but the speed i get on epic games launcher is 19 kbps to maximum 80 kbps.
